Consider that all good arguments take the opposition into consideration, if only briefly. It’s important that you choose at least one major piece of opposition to consider in the proposal.

You are about to make a proposal to legalize the organ trade market in the U.S. and you’ll need to think about who would oppose your position on legalization:

Write three sentences (argument points) that support your proposal idea.
Write three sentences that would oppose each of the argument points either directly or indirectly (in other words a direct opposite opinion or an opinion that agrees only partially with your views).
Write three sentences that attempt to concede with each of your opposition sentences.
Write three sentences that offer a rebuttal to the opposition.
Finally, based on what you’ve explored, discuss which piece of opposition you think would be the strongest and most important to include in your proposal and why.
In a few sentences, explain why dealing with the opposition in your proposal argument is important to its success and, even if done briefly and succinctly, why it is necessary in order to persuade your audience and appease the opposition. Be sure to support your response.
