Discussion: EVM Application / Performance Reporting
In reference to the case study and Section IV of the final project (Application of EVM), consider what you have learned about the role of integrated cost and schedule control in improving overall project performance through performance reporting and change control processes. Have you changed your opinion since the initial discussion in Module One about the value of EVM? Why or why not? Based on your interpretation of the EVM statistics in the case study, do you think integrated cost and schedule control (via performance reporting and formal change control) improved the performance of the project? Provide specific examples from the EVM metrics (such as CV, SV, CPI, SPI) and discuss how effective performance reporting and change control could have addressed any variances or issues. Be sure to substantiate your claims with references to course materials, the case study, and additional research where appropriate.
