The purpose of this discussion is to develop a solid understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) fundamentals and how the core metrics (PV, EV, AC) are used to measure and report integrated project performance.Instructions
Part 1: Initial Post (Due by Day 3)
Post a substantive response of 400–500 words that addresses all of the following:
Define the three core EVM metrics: Planned Value (PV), Earned Value (EV), and Actual Cost (AC).
Explain how these metrics are used together to assess project performance.
Calculate and interpret Schedule Variance (SV) and Cost Variance (CV) using a simple project example with given values.
Share your perspective: Why is Earned Value considered a more accurate indicator of project status than simply comparing planned vs. actual cost and schedule?
Support your post with a minimum of two scholarly references (one must be from the assigned Week 3 readings, and one may be from a credible external source). Use APA 7th edition format for citations and references.Part 2: Responses to Colleagues (Due by Day 6)
Respond substantively to at least two different classmates. Each response should be 150–250 words and must: Compare or contrast their interpretation of EVM metrics or example with yours.
Add new insight or provide an additional real-world application.
Pose at least one thoughtful question to extend the discussion.
