His mother is accompanying him during his visit. She is concerned and verbalizes to you that she has read “all about the college kids who have died from the deadly viruses”. How do you educate both the patient and the mother about the mandatory and “optional” vaccines available? Please include what mandatory and optional vaccines are required and available for children in this age group (17 years-old). Provide a summary of your education to the mother and child.
