Paragraph:
Protein is essential in the buildup and repair of tissue. It builds hormones, enzymes, nails, and it is integral for cells. Since protein is important for body functions, it should be present in adequate amounts. Due to this, “protein intake greater than the recommended amounts may improve muscle health, prevent sarcopenia, and help maintain energy balance, weight management, and cardiovascular function” (Baum et al., 2016). Overall, protein intake is necessary in order to maintain health and a good quality of life.
