You need to tell me what you are researching and why you have chosen the topic.

Research Paper on Cultural Competency in Healthcare – 250 points

This research paper will allow you to dig deeply into an issue about which you feel passionate. Topics might include such issues as disparities in access, treatment, and outcomes, access to medical training, leading your organization to be diverse and inclusive, identifying individual hidden biases, insecurity or fear when engaging with patients, misunderstanding of patients, understanding the unique social, cultural, and linguistic needs of patients, and on, and on, and on….

Your research paper should include 1) an introduction which explains your research question or reason for undertaking this research, 2) a literature review and synthesis of information and/or data that has been written recently on this topic, 3) your critical and logical analysis of the current state of the issue, and 4) your recommendations for solving the problem or handling the issue. 

Assume your audience is other scholars and professionals in the field. Your research should contribute something to the field. Your final paper will be 5-7 pages, double spaced. Spelling, grammar and punctuation are important. Be concise and do not “pad” your paper to reach a certain length. Write in APA format, and that includes a cover page (not counted in the 5-7 pages), the paper, and a list of references at the end of the paper (not counted in the 5-7 pages).
