Aortic insufficiency

LOCATION: Inpatient, Hospital PATIENT: Caroline Sorenson SURGEON: Marvin Elhart, M.D. PROCEDURE PERFORMED: 2-D echocardiogram INDICATIONS FOR STUDY: Aortic insufficiency. Height 5’2", 145 1bs A 2-D echocardiographic study performed with colorflow Doppler. 2-D ECHOCARDIOGRAPHIC REPORT 1. Technically limited study. 2. Grossly normal left ventricular cavitary dimensions, end systole, end diastole; possibly mildly dilated. Poor visualization makes true determination in the absence of M-mode measurements problematic. Normal left ventricular wall thickness. Grossly preserved left ventricular systolic function, contractility, endomyocardial excursion, wall thickening with ejection fraction of 66%. Mild global hypokinesis with preserved systolic function. Diastolic dysfunction with impairment of left ventricular relaxation, reduced compliance.
