The Module Pre-Assessment is your opportunity to practice applying module content before submitting the final Competency Assessment. In the Final Assessment, you will be asked to prepare a presentation that guides the CEO and Board of Directors to follow the recommendation to expand the hospitals ICU unit.

To prepare for your Final Assessment, consider the definition and importance of evidence-based decision making in healthcare. Next, review the three options for the ICU provided and consider how each option will address the issues in the ICU. Then, reflect on one of the three options and why it will maximize the benefits to the hospital, patients, and community. Finally, think about the impact the option you recommend will have on staffing, productivity, competitiveness, and finances.

For this Module Pre-Assessment, create a draft of your slide presentation for Part One and Part Two of your Final Assessment. Be sure to cite appropriate sources in the presenters notes and to review the Final Assessment Instructions for more details.
