- Name and Description of etiological agent. You should include a picture of the organism and an describe it. Ex. Gram positive or Gram negative, what kind of virus, etc.
- Signs and symptoms
- Pathogenesis and virulence factors (What damage is done to the body by this organism and what adaptations does the organism have that allow it to do that damage?)
- Transmission: How is the disease spread? What is the portal of entry?
- Epidemiology (includes morbidity, mortality and prevalence rates for the diseases. Often includes maps or graphs.)
- Culture and diagnosis (How is the diagnosis made? What tests are run?)
- Prevention
- Treatment
- Something interesting about the disease (ex .Do you have a personal story about it?, Did someone famous have it? Is there a song or poem about it?)
- Slides to include (at least):
- Cover slide with name of diseases and your name
- Slide with at least 3 reliable references with proper APA formatted bibliographies (can use textbook as one resource) Do not use Wikipedia (not a reliable source). You must use at least one non-internet resource.
