Favorite movie

This is going to be a fun  essay assignment! You must complete the following steps:

1.) Choose your favorite video game, movie, literary work OR song.

2. Next, you should select three (3) literary terms that resonate with you most. (i.e. plot, characters and theme)

3.) Use these terms to discuss/evaluate your work of art  in essay form.

Essay Format

 The essay must  follow this format:

*have five (5) paragraphs  (introduction, 3 body paragraphs and a conclusion)  

*typed, double spaced, with 1 inch margins all around.

 * font size is 12 and style is Times New Roman.

Here is a sample outline that will serve you well as you gather your own thoughts:

Introduction (Paragraph One)

I.) Thesis Statement:  Plot, theme and characters are present in the movie, “Coming To America.”  (this is the last sentence of the introductory paragraph)

Body Paragraph (Paragraph Two)

II.) “Coming To America” has a wonderful plot. (This is a Topic Sentence and it tells the reader what the paragraph is about)

A.)  An African prince, Akeem, and his friend search for love in America.

B.) Akeem goes on several failed dates. One night, he attends a rally and sees the love of his life, Lisa.

C.) Akeem and Lisa get married. 

III.) Body Paragraph (Paragraph Three)

Next, theme is also depicted in the movie. (Topic Sentence-tells What the paragraph is about)

A. The theme of perseverance is depicted through Lisas and Akeems unyielding love for each other.

B. Even though their families do not support their relationship, they soon realize that Lisa and Akeems love is meant to be. 

C. Change is also another theme in Coming To America.

IV. Body Paragraph (Paragraph Four)

Lastly, Coming To America has an assortment of characters. (topic sentence tells what the paragraph is about)

A.) Lisa, Akeem and Semi are protagonists and they are round characters.

B.) Akeems and Lisas parents, the McDowells employees, dancers and singers are minor characters.

V. Conclusion (Restate your thesis and wrap up your essay) 

Concluding paragraphs should be 3-5 sentences long
