Drug Use and Delunquency

In the book, several drug control strategies are discussed, one of them being harm reduction (pg. 293). This discussion assignment provides you with an opportunity to discuss issues related to the various harm reduction strategies. The goal of these strategies is to reduce the harm associated with drug use for both the individual user and society as a whole. Examples of harm reduction strategies include decriminalization, providing access to clean needles, supervised consumption facilities, greater access to drug treatment, medication assisted treatment, drug overdose prevention (naloxone), and Good Samaritan laws.
