Video Games and Literature

“Students will write an academic essay about the relationship between videogames and literature. It may draw from Posts and other course work, but should show significant expansion and revision. It must include a thesis, support from textual observations and analysis, and a conclusion that opens up new discussions as well as incorporates two (2) or more secondary sources. A revised draft of the Paper will be uploaded to Blackboard and graded with a Rubric.” For textual reference, feel free to use any video game. Need at least two academic, peer-reviewed articles as secondary sources. The topic is intentionally vague. Some ideas to approach this are: how each works formally to tell stories, how each handles issues of representation, the definition of art and what counts as literature.
