There is considerable room for opinion here; however, you must demonstrate depth of critical thinking and link your analysis to course concepts. Although we discussed gender & ads, you are free to choose any cultural group/s that you want as long as you can make an argument that it is biased.
These are short but well written statements (2 solid paragraphs with 3-5 detailed sentences).
What to do first:
First you will find your ad. Make sure to choose one that gives you something to write about and analyze with respect to cultural identity.
Then think about the ad–what is it saying on the surface? what is it saying underneath the surface? who is it likely to appeal to? how it is persuading? what cultural symbols does it rely on?
What to include in your Post:
Provide a link to the ad in your post if its a video. Upload the image if its a picture ad.
Your written analysis with an introductory and conclusion statement.

Link the biases you’ve uncovered to wider social discourse about this cultural group/s. What are some of the wider held beliefs about your group/s? (about 1-2 sentences).
Conclude by reflecting briefly on the overall nature of ads of this type. (about 1-2 sentences).
Near your conclusion, offer one clearly highlighted interesting question that occurred to you as you were reading it–what would you like us to think about and discuss? This isn’t a question for me, this is a question you ask your peers in the interest of stimulating discussion.
