Psychological Disorders Paper

For this assignment, you will choose a psychological disorder from our text to research further.      You’ll then write up a mock case study for a hypothetical client with your chosen disorder.    

Your case study should include the following sections:

• Client ‘Name’:  List the name of your hypothetical client.   (No real people, please.)
• Background Information: This section should include information that your ‘client’ would share with you during your initial meeting.   This can include information on family life, occupation, and any medical details that are pertinent.
• Symptoms: This section should fully describe the client’s complaints.   Why did he/she seek treatment, and how severe are the issues?   These should align with the DSM-V description of your chosen disorder.
• Differential Diagnosis: Here you’ll include 2-3 similar diagnoses that could have fit some of your client’s symptoms.   List the disorders, their symptoms, and why you ruled them out for this particular client. 
• Diagnosis and Rationale: Share the diagnosis for your client, and your rationale for the client’s diagnosis.   Why does this diagnosis make sense for your client?
• Treatment Recommendations: Describe how this disorder is typically treated.
• References: List at least two reliable references.
• Submit in Canvas.

Requirements:

• APA formatting of citations in the body of your text AND a reference page. (Otherwise your formatting should reflect the case study style…you can just list the topics from above and fill in your text under each.)
• Word document
• 1" margins, 12-point font, double-spaced, at least 3 pages in length (not including title or reference page)
• Submit in Canvas; a TurnItIn report will be run and any instances of plagiarism will result in a grade of ‘0’ for the assignment.
