PSYC 4344 ONLINE FALL 2023 Writing Assignments 1 & 2 Instructions Choose two of the following experiences and write a 750-word paper for each experience. Please go outside of your own cultural background and write about/try something that you are not particularly familiar with. Given the current circumstances, I understand that options for partaking in social activities are very limited. Therefore, you can write about a recent experience (i.e., within the past 1-2 years) that you might have had of a different culture. You can choose from: a new cuisine, music/musical event (e.g., festival), religious service, foreign movie/show, dancing lessons/dancing night out, or cultural festival. You will have to consult with me first if you decide to write about other topics that are not on the list. Your two writing assignments should not be based on the same type of experience. For example, if you write about eating Japanese cuisine for the first essay, you cannot write about eating Greek cuisine for the second essay. Each essay will be worth 100 points. For each essay, you will have to write about: 1. What experience you have chosen 2. Why you have chosen it 3. What you thought it would be like (before you tried it) 4. What it was actually like (after you tried it) 5. If you would/would not like to try it again Assignments must be written in 12-pt Times New Roman font and at least 750 words. There are no page limits, but you should make sure the word count is at least 750 words. You will lose 10 points (5 points for font, 5 points for word count) if you do not do this. Please submit these assignments through the appropriate folders/links on Canvas. You will not be able to submit your assignment after 11:59pm on the due date. It is your responsibility to make sure your assignment is completed and successfully turned in. As per the syllabus, I do not accept late assignments. Make sure you receive a receipt from TurnItIn to ensure that your assignment was successfully submitted. If you do not receive one, please contact me immediately.
