From a story of an awe-inspiring display of faith, the story of a devoted father who had no choice but to sacrifice his only son to the focus on Isaac as the first Jewish martyr. In this week’s readings, we trace = the historical ways that Jews related to and wrote about the Akedah (e.g. Chronicles of the Crusades).
