The Extra Credit Assignment, which is worth up to 6 points, addresses the online research of potential funding sources for the mental health prevention project grant proposal. This extra credit assignment requires students to identify six (6) additional funding sources that might fund their project.
The full 6 points may be earned if students submit the assignment described below, which is to be uploaded to the Extra Credit section in the BlackBoard Assignments tab.
Students will read the information posted in Course Resources / Important Documents regarding finding funding sources. Some of this information is also included in the PowerPoint slides.
Next, students will conduct online research using the websites suggested, as well as others of their choice, and select a minimum of 6 possible organizations and foundations that might be willing to fund their mental health prevention project. Please focus on foundations and organizations that provide grant funding, rather than on governmental entities.
Students will then provide the following information for each of the potential funding sources they identified:
The name and web address of the potential funding source;
The mission of the funding source; and
Why you believe the funding source might fund your project.
For each funding source, a minimum of a half-page should be submitted.
