If an individual does not pass a class at GCU, they are required to take the class again. The failure of the class can also have negative ramifications on their financial aid. Failing a class acts as a roadblock for students trying to get to graduation.
Students are financially responsible for paying the failed class and retaking the class. There will be two separate charges for the students. This is not the most ideal situation for students to be in
My backup plan is to drop out if I am not studious enough to pass a class. I can live with failing a class if I put forth my best effort and came up short. If this is the case, then I would opt to retake the class. However, if I found that I failed the class due to lack of effort or timing, then I would opt to drop out for the time being. I shouldn’t commit to something like school if I cannot follow through and get passing grades.

Failing a class affects you in more ways than one. Firstly, the effect it has on your academic progress is tough. It means that you would have to retake the class, which takes me to my next point. Retaking a class requires us to have to pay for that class again, which we all know isn’t the cheapest thing in the world. Failing a class pretty much means that we wasted our money. If we fail, we are still required to pay for the full class, and if we drop it, I believe we have to pay for some if not all of the class.
In my personal opinion, I’d do anything possible to not let that happen. If a class is failed because of lack of participation or because time was managed incorrectly, those things should be evaluated before you start a class. If one fails because the class was too hard, I also feel it as an excuse because there are so many resources so we can take advantage of to get help.

If i do not pass a class it would affect me in so many ways. I have worked so hard to be here and i have support group that believes in me. It would also affect my career path that i have worked so hard to construct and just have it fall apart would be devastating. My financial responsibilities if i fail or drop out would be trying to pay the loans i have received and have been expected to complete. I honestly can say that i would have a back up plan only because this is my only plan that i have worked so hard on.

If you do not pass a class there a financial and academic repercussions. Failing a class means you would still have to pay for that class while also not receiving credit toward your degree. Grade Point Average is also affected if you ever were to fail a class which reflects negatively on your transcript. When dropping a class early instead of failing at the very end of a course, I believe it is possible to receive a partial if not full refund based on the policy. To avoid future stresses and worries, I always give myself a backup plan. I always financially secure myself before making a decision so I make sure I can support myself in case of a particular situation, academically, I plan to continue to set goals for myself and follow the strategies I have learned so far.

As I was reading the article I did realize I already do several of the suggested budget tips that were listed like cooking at home (family of 6, it wasn’t really an option), make saving fun, we put change in a clay pot one of my daughters has made and when its full we cash it in, and do a monthly budget. I do like the wait and see list, because it seems like we tend to go oh buy it, and then clothing items sit in closets literally never worn. Another idea with this concept is to become somewhat of a minimalist and get only necessities. We like to travel, and have taught our kids that the less you spend on “things” the more you can “do”. We plan a family vacation every year and have a savings just for vacation, Christmas and events like this. Our vacations are budgeted souly on what is in this account, any extras are accrued while on vacation by working Uber Eats or door dash while on vacation {also helps to learn the area!}. We bank with a credit union, which is owned by the members, its less fees and allows more confidence in our banking solutions. Our retirement is done with both low risk and high risk 401Ks, in which we can get loans when necessary that do not have high interest rates.

I personally already use nine of the 10 money saving strategies listed in the article. The only one I don’t use is the financial counseling. I do not use credit cards and I do use a Traditional Bank. All my change goes in a jar in case of an emergency. It adds up quicker than you would think. Very very rarely do I eat out. If I see something I want online, while at times it’s not easy, I give it a while before I decide to order it or not. More times than not I end up not ordering it. I asked myself before any kind of purchase if the product is a need or want. These are the strategies that I use in order to successfully live paycheck to paycheck.

I think all of the ten money-saving strategies are great ideas. Comes to find out I already do some of the strategies that were listed. Three stratgies that helps me with my personal budget is prioritizing my spending, cooking at home, and always comparing prices. Especially with nowadays, inflation is going through the roof. It is best to be smart with your money and to get your moneys worth. I do not have a lot of bills that I have to pay but that does not mean I can spend all of my paycheck on whatever I want. I prioritze my paycheck so I can at least put money in my savings account. I always compare prices too because most of the time you can find the same exact thing online for cheaper! Something that I personally use is an app called “mint”. This app keeps tracks of how much you are spending every month. It has cool features like telling you a breakdown of which week you spent the most during the month, and how many days you went without spending any money. It is super helpful to keep me on track with my money and it even gives you “points” to check the app daily.

The three strategies I selected are Developing a Household Budget, Prioritizing Your Spending, and the Minus-One Rule. The list included a lot of great ways to improve my personal budget. These three areas will help me initiate a budget plan. Developing a household budget forces me to see if I’m living within my means (or not). I’m afraid the results will not be in my favor. However, I might need this rude awakening to get back on track. Prioritizing my spending will help me pay my debts on time and minimize unnecessary spending. Removing one item before checkout is a genius idea for saving money.
Since the budget worksheet manages available funding at that time, I deposit salary increases into a savings account. I often cover upper-level positions in my office which comes with additional compensation. These funds are designated to pay down credit card debt.
