You have a ten-year old male client who has been brought to the child guidance clinic for his oppositional behavior. He has been doing poorly in school because he will not do his homework and is therefore failing in school. Punishment—in the form of withholding video games and television, restricting playtime, and timeout in his room—has not been successful.
1.First, you want to baseline the frequency of studying in the form of minutes studied. Here is the result of your findings for the first week:

2. For the second week, the intervention phase, you have chosen to use positive reinforcement as an intervention. This involves a reward for studying. You decide to use tokens for each 15 minutes of homework time that can be traded in at the end of the week for money or other rewards.
3. Assume you measure the intervention for five days. Please describe how you would gather the data regarding your intervention.
4. Record the results of your intervention in a manner similar to the baseline above (make up results).
5. Transfer your raw data to Excel and create a line chart that shows both the results of the baseline and the intervention. For guidance on creating a line chart in Excel, please see the videos under Readings and Resources. Make sure your chart uses the title and labels shown below:
