PART TWO:
STEP ONE: Pick a specific type of brain damage or neurological disease (see Chapter 10 and additional
resources in the class to get an idea for your topic selection). Find 5 peer-reviewed articles about this type
of brain damage or neuropsychological disease. You will need to find information related to the anatomy
of the impairment (at least 2 articles), as well as articles that focus on treatment (at least 2 articles). As a
result, you will have 2 articles related to the impact on the brain, and 2 articles on treatment. Your fifth
article can be on either of these topics or another of focus.
STEP TWO: Write up a summary of your findings. Your summary should include the following:
1. Introduction-One paragraph reviewing the purpose of this assignment.
2. Overview of the disorder/disease-Provide an overview of the structures of the brain that are
impacted by the brain damage/disease. Review the difficulties associated with the
damage/disease. (One page)
3. Section on Treatment: Discuss at least 2 treatment approaches. Review how these treatment
approaches operate on a neurological level. (One page)
4. Conclusion-One paragraph to close the assignment.
You will submit this assignment via Blackboard. On Blackboard you will also find a video detailing this
assignment, and a rubric for grading.

1. This paper should be between 3-4 page (double spaced) in length, not including the title, and
reference page.
2. This paper should contain at least 5 peer reviewed resources (Wikipedia is not a peer reviewed
reference) other than the text.
3. This paper should adhere to strict APA guidelines.
a. Punctuation and grammar counts.
b. Font Style should be Times New Roman and font size should be the standard 12.
c. Do not double space between paragraphs.
4. As a reminder, if you quote any source please be sure to cite that source and give credit in the
body of the paper and on the reference page.
