10777#1 Social Issues Paper (Each student writes a paper related to a social issue)
The purpose of the Social Issues project/paper is twofold:
to analyze a national or regional health care issue from a socio-political perspective (exclude abortion issues)
interview a government official, and propose an evidence-based remedy for the issue
Social Issues Paper Process:
Research what a social issue is and review the history of this issue and how it came about.
Analyze the socio-political forces that played a role in the development and the perpetuation or abating of this issue.
Analyze the effects of this issue on the health care of a particular community or region. (please elaborate on Human Trafficking and the affects on the black and brown communities.)
Interview a government official (national, regional, or local) whose constituents live in the affected community. Get his/her stance on the issue. Detail any activity the official has taken on the issue.
Propose a remedy for the issue. The remedy should be detailed, specific, and evidence-based. ( This can be simulated to create dialogue between myself Lexis Holloway & Jessica Washington, a political strategist for the democratic party in Georgia. Jessica’s stance is it should be declared a state of emergency in not only Georgia, but in large metropolitan areas where Human Trafficking is at an all time high.)

Social Issues Paper Guidelines:
Label each major section of the paper with appropriate headers as per APA format.
Provide evidence to support your opinions and recommendations.
Reflect upon the social issue.
Analyze research findings and draw conclusions.
Provide a title page, body of the paper, and reference page in 7th edition APA format.
Body of paper should be at least 2 pages but no more than 5 pages in length.
Use Level 1 APA headings to organize your thoughts/paper.
