Blog: How Do You Practice Intra- and Interdisciplinary Collaboration in Practice?
You are the DNP-prepared nurse responsible for overseeing a large intensive care unit (ICU). You have noticed that in the last 3 months, the number of nosocomial, or hospital-acquired infections (HAIs), has dramatically increased among patients who have undergone cardiovascular procedures. You would like to initiate a practice study to determine the source of these HAIs and to improve patient outcomes in your ICU.
What types of interdisciplinary collaboration might be needed to support the goals of your practice study?
As outlined in the scenario, the likelihood to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance healthcare delivery and nursing practice is high. In fact, it is likely that the DNP-prepared nurse in the scenario presented may need to collaborate with an infection prevention specialist (who may be a PhD-prepared nurse or PhD-credentialed healthcare professional). While this represents only one potential area in which interprofessional collaboration may take place in advanced nursing practice, it is important to keep in mind that when disciplines work together toward a shared goal that focuses on the patient, the quality and cost of care delivered will be optimized (Johnson & Johnson, 2016).
For this Blog Assignment, review the Learning Resources and reflect on strategies that may be used to foster interdisciplinary collaboration in nursing practice. Reflect on strategies and approaches you might recommend that support interdisciplinary collaboration in practice.

Blog on Online Learning Strategies
Hello, I am pursuing an advanced degree in my nursing career: a Doctor of Nursing Practice. I have one obligation with this academic venture, which is to succeed while creating a work-life balance. I also know the choices I make during this learning experience will influence the outcome. Hence, identifying a learning strategy that works is important. To get to this point, I have used various tactics to improve my results and overall performance. I found emphasizing adequate time management have proven worthwhile previously. The use of modern tools alongside being disciplined has facilitated effective management of time. (Lee et al., 2018).
This strategy did not always come naturally. My biggest learning flaw has been time management and sticking to schedules (Patrick & Butzlaff, 2021). Working to improve time management helped me improve other strategies like self-disciplined, procrastination, and maintaining consistency in my learning experience. As an APRN, I worked to improve time management because of its impact to work-life balance and getting compensated for patient care. My time management deficiency was amenable thanks to being disciplined and technological enhancement. Many tools exist that helped me better organize my time and commitments. I used modern tools such as schedulers, online calendars, and reminders to better manage my time and resources (Lee et al., 2018). Consequently, I am now able to better plan my academic, work, and family life as well as set objectives that will advance my professional and academic goals through the strategic use of innovative technology (Nayak, 2018). Effective time management works
