this isn't an essay, so don't concern yourself with a thesis, intro, or conclusion; feel free to simply paste part i) of the question as given, respond to it, and then do the same for part ii)

– there's no need for any bibliography (I know your sources!) but I do require specific page numbers for any citations

– the key focus in part i) is to explain the growth of Christian religious diversity, i.e. instead of a single legitimate Church (Roman Catholic) there were soon several other major options, and a growing number of even smaller movements; what made this diversity possible, and what were the specific religious issues that created disagreement? it would make sense to devote a paragraph to each cause of diversity that you identify

– in part ii), the focus is on what difference this diversity made over the long term; it's important to keep in mind that the religious dimension of western society (or the lack thereof) is only one factor contributing to change over time; still, as Marshall argues and as Woodhead helps us to understand, the shift away from a single Church to social and political structures that had to somehow accommodate religious diversity had huge implications, and has helped to shape current conditions; I've already identified secularization and individualization as a part of the legacy of the rise of religious diversity, but you'll want to add one or two other points for a full response, each in its own paragraph

– thus: a response in the 'A' range will focus clearly on 3-4 supporting points for each of parts i) and ii), and each point must be well-explained and connected to the question
