In addition to what we’ve read in Garrett’s book, I’d like you to research 2-3 cases of eyewitness misidentification (the innocence project has an extensive list) to explore a few key issues with eyewitness testimony. Examples include:

• Marvin Anderson
Much like Essay 1, your essay should use the cases to highlight how (and why) witness misidentifications occurred. As we’ve discussed in class, when examining two cases it can be helpful to find similarities and/or differences between the two. You should use Garrett’s book as well as any in-class materials we used.
*You might choose to also discuss how errors could be fixed, why they are allowed to continue and who is responsible for fixing this part of the system.
