Sidenote: I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student (M.A.) Class is Data Assessment & Analysis, meant for people on a path to being a principal in a school but can be adjusted based on your path (mine is to be a therapist but there is a school at my internship, although I work as a residential therapist to kids that live there and go to school there).

This is several short assignments that all need completed. Please acknowledge that before saying you are prepared to finish these.

Case Study #3

Finding the Starting Point with Data. Determining what and how to share data with your staff and with your parents can be an overwhelming task. Here are some questions to help to find a starting point to this process. Answer these questions for your school and or district.

• What evidence would demonstrate that we are fulfilling the mission and vision of the district?
• Do we have any existing goals that we lack baseline data from which to measure progress?
• What assumptions do we make about student learning in our school and do we have data to verify these assumptions as realities?
• What are some issues in the school that we have data to help resolve or focus improvement efforts? (ex. student attendance…student discipline….teacher attendance…..think beyond assessment data for this one)
• What if any would you like to add to this list as you look for a starting point of data to share?
