Reducing Obesity in Your Community

Instructions to Learners

Now that you have completed the Engage discussion activity and Evaluate writing assignment for Module 6, please think about how this weeks videos did a great job explaining how neighborhoods affect obesity through access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity.

How does your local community support healthy eating habits and physical activity?
What could your community do to reduce obesity in your area?

Your single entry Evolve post should be at least 150 words in length and should substantively integrate the assigned content of the module and draw on what you have learned through the module.

Please see the Readings and Materials page for review.

Your single entry Evolve post is open throughout the module, but is best done later in the week, due by Sunday at 11:59 PM EST
Weekly Wrap Up

You were able to discuss the characteristic you found to have the greatest impact on obesity, examine data from your state in terms of rates of obesity by race and ethnicity, and discuss what is being done to support healthy lifestyles in your community. In Module 7, you will explore fad diets and how they are affecting the obesity epidemic in the United States.
