Now that you have completed an outline and the first two paragraphs of your final essay, it is time to complete a full rough draft.
Composing a rough draft is an important part of the Writing Process. Use the outline you created as a guide for the rest of the paper. You also want to focus on these rhetorical star elements: subject, audience, purpose, and strategy. Review the chapter on the writing strategy you are using to write your final essay. There will be examples and tips in the chapter to help you compose your rough draft.
Instructions
Using the outline you created last week, compose a full rough draft of your final paper. Pay close attention to how you are integrating your source material, your topic sentences, and transitions.
As a reminder, here are the requirements for your final paper. It would be a great idea to aim for each of these elements in your rough draft:
- A thorough introduction where you provide your reader with the necessary information to introduce your topic
- A clear, direct thesis statement
- Effective organization
- Strong details and descriptions
- At least two sources to support the ideas and claims expressed in the paper
- A thoughtful conclusion
- Formatted in APA
- The final essay should also be at least 750 words.
