The most exciting experience was when i did the designed and the interior decorations and furnishing of my parent’s new house 3 years ago. I have always loved Interior designing and the mix of colors, fabrics, and materials. This has been my passion since i was young and architecture was my dream studying major. However, due to my academic excellence in physics and mathematics i got enrolled in an electrical engineering university and now i am engineer. However, due to my passion during my bachelor degree studying period i took a course in ART history at VCU university which provided me knowledge about the old European buildings structure and how they evolved during the centuries.
Three years ago my parents bought a new big house. The house finishing was not completed i had to work on the whole design and develop a full implementation plan including the very tiny details f the design. I also had to work based on the budget which my parents had. This was a very challenging and exciting experience. I enjoyed and loved every second of it. It was like a personal project which i worked for in free without anything return.
During the development of the house interior design implementation plan, i spent couple of weeks researching all about the design which my parent wanted for their house. I had to plan it based on their needs and color taste. The implementation plan included measurements and sizes of all items.
After finalizing the house painting, wall design, floor marble, ceiling design, door and window placement by myself. I planned a trip to Guangzouh City to buy the furniture for the master bed rooms, living area, dinning room, house entrance room, garden. I made a full check list of the furniture including the chairs and sofas, side tables, center tables, chandeliers, carpets, light lamps, dinning table, curtain fabric, and the decoration accessories. The items i have selected where sent to order and where delivered within 2 months after buying it. They were shipped by an international shipping company that i dealt with personally.
The project lasted for a whole 6 months and provided me with a great experience in interior designing. The next planned project is building and decorating my dream house within the next 5 years.
