I need help with creating a power point but first you have to read the article.

Present highlights from the literature review

Should be able to summarize for us what previous literature on this subject has already found, talk about previous studies in the subject area that the authors included in the article.

Should include age, race, functioning level, diagnoses, gender of participants. Where did study take place?

Target Behaviors  

What were the DV’s or behaviors studied and share the operational definitions

Design of Study

What type of single case design was used to evaluate the treatment? (e.g., reversal, MBL)

Overview of Procedures  

Explain/summarize the procedures. This should be written so that once I read it, I am able to know what happened in baseline, in treatment A, in treatment B, etc.

Results  

You should explain to us what happened in the graphs shown in the article. Walk me through what happened to the target behavior for the participant’s across baseline, treatment, reversal, follow-up, etc.

NEED TO VISUALLY ANALYZE THE DATA-tell me what happened with level, trend, variability. May want to include graphs in your presentation.

Limitations

List at least 2 limitations to the study/findings. The authors usually list at least 2 in the article.

Implications

Tell me what this study and these findings added to the body of literature on the topic in particular but also to the field. Why does this study matter? What made it special enough to be published?

Future Research

Tell me at least one idea that either you or the author’s have about what can/should be done to further explore the topic in the future.

Were you making eye contact with the audience? Were you just reading slides? Were you well-spoken? Did you use terms correctly? Did you make sense?

Familiarity with Article and Preparedness

Do you know this article and study better than anyone in the class? Can you answer instructor’s questions at the end of the presentation?
