 our written response to this discussion prompt assesses your ability to (a) summarize effective methods to communicate with all stakeholders, considering their individual interests, priorities and cultural differences for programming of students with disabilities, (b) clarify the potential challenges in the process of collaboration in the public school setting, and (c) critique proactive methods for interactive and effective communication with those of differing perspectives.

When working within a group, especially with differing perspectives, conflict is a common occurrence. In order to understand your teammates, and collaborate and communicate effectively, it is useful to understand your own conflict management style. To prepare for this discussion post, watch the following
CPP, Inc. (2014) video (Links to an external site.)and read the short Meier (2011) article (Links to an external site.), describing the types of conflict management styles. Then, take the short quiz to identify your own style.

• Identify your conflict management style and describe what it means in your own words.
• Do you agree with the outcome? Why or why not? If not, which category do you feel is more akin to your management style?
