Welcome to NUR3000 – Foundations of Professional Nursing! Introduce yourself to your classmates and instructor by addressing the following in your initial post (minimum 250–300 words):
Personal Introduction: Share your name, preferred pronouns (if you wish), where you are from or currently live, and any personal or professional background relevant to nursing (e.g., previous healthcare experience, prior degree, or why you chose nursing).
Why Nursing? Why did you decide to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)? What does “being a professional nurse” mean to you at this early stage?
Professional Identity (tie to readings): After reading Chapter 1 and the AACN Essentials excerpt, identify one attribute or value of professional nursing that resonates with you most right now (e.g., advocacy, lifelong learning, holistic care, leadership). Explain why it stands out to you.
Goals for the Course: What are you hoping to gain from this foundational course? What concerns or questions do you have as you begin your BSN journey?
Response Requirements: Reply substantively to at least two classmates. Your responses should be thoughtful (minimum 100–150 words each) and add to the conversation. Examples of strong responses include asking a follow-up question, sharing a similar experience, or connecting their post to a concept from the readings.
