With youth substance abuse on the rise, advocates must be able to identify methodologies and perspectives to combat substance abuse and
anticipate how those approaches will affect them. In this assignment, you will explore approaches to advocacy, apply them to Joe’s case, and predict
how they will help him. To prepare for this assignment, please refer to the case study for Joe, which can be found on page 160 (Box 7.1) in Chapter
7 of your text.
ASSIGNMENT DIRECTIONS
For this assignment, you will write a paper based on the case provided. Please use the Unit 5 Assignment Template  to address each of the
following in at least two full pages:
Identify and briefly describe two models, methodologies, or perspectives involved in advocacy for youth.
Compare and contrast those two models, methodologies, or perspectives. Explain how they are similar and how they are different.
Apply both of your selected models, methodologies, or perspectives in the case study about Joe.
Predict how using each model, methodology, or perspective would benefit Joe or positively alter the outcome of his case.
