For this assignment, choose a childcare company to calculate the costs of absenteeism and separation. Conduct your own research for the average costs of the different criteria in the online calculator, which is linked below. Using the research you completed and the calculator, follow the instructions below.
1. Navigate to the Investing in People Online website. Using the online calculator on the website, you will calculate the costs of absenteeism and separations based on the costs that you researched for your chosen company/industry (Alexander, 2019). To access the online calculator, select the “Absenteeism” tab and the “Employee Separations” tab from the menu on the left-hand side of the screen. (If you are accessing this material on a mobile device, you may need to select to view the site as a desktop site for the menu options to display.) For both Absenteeism and Employee Separations, enter the data into the online worksheet. After all the data fields are filled in, the Estimated Costs will display along with a pie chart at the bottom of the worksheet.
2. Based on the results of the calculations from Step 1 of the assignment, interpret the results and what these results mean for the company in terms of absenteeism and separation costs.
3. Formulate a plan for controlling absenteeism and separation costs based on the Required Unit Resources for this unit. This plan should be specific to the organization that you have chosen.
4. Analyze how voluntary versus involuntary turnover impacts the company and the costs associated with the turnover.
The paper is to be at least three pages in length, not counting the title page, references page, tables, or appendices.
