An important aspect of primary care is collaboration with specialists. Knowing when referrals are necessary and avoiding unnecessary referrals can take years to get right. In this week’s introduction lecture, I shared a couple stories about necessary and unnecessary referrals that I’ve seen recently. Helping to think through some of these situations now can help when you encounter similar scenarios in clinical practice.
