ADVOCACY LITERATURE REVIEWTo expand on the 3 core areas (awareness, skills, knowledge) of multicultural and social justice competence, students will complete an intensive literature review on a topic of advocacy. Students are encouraged to select topics that are pertinent to counselor education and/or the counseling profession. Current hot topics in the field would be ideal. Along with a thorough review of the topic, the paper will need to propose advocacy efforts at all three levels (micro- to macrolevel) of advocacy. You could consider this paper be a form of advocacy (public education) on the topic; you can identify your intended audience (e.g., other counselor educators, practicing counselors, legislators, community health administrators, etc.). This paper is the culminating project of this course and should reflect integration of knowledge and concepts. The paper should conform to APA style. Pay attention to person-first and bias-free language. A minimum of 10 scholarly references is expected and should be current (within 5-7 years). Length including abstract/reference page should be 18-20 pages. .
