STEM and society related topic
STEM and society related topic. We will break this process into 3 submissions. Here in Week 2, you will identify your topic choice and submit it for approval. By Week 7, you will have conducted research to write a paper that discusses the way your choice is approached in 2 different societies.
Identify a STEM issue, invention, or mindset.
• Examples of issues could be climate change, global sustainability
• Examples of mindset could be government support for STEM, the military-industrial complex, societal integration and expectation of technologies
• Examples of inventions could be augmented reality, biohacking, genetically modified foods/organisms
Submit this as a word document. It is important to consider and refine your topic early however, as it could be very easy to become side-tracked or 'lost in the weeds' of possibilities. Your submission should be one paragraph in length, identifying your topic and why you think it is appropriate for this course. You need to include at least 1 reference indicating this is a feasible research topic.
Your topic choice submission will be evaluated using the attached grading criteria. It is important to note that you must do more than just name your topic: some preliminary research is needed to ensure this is a viable choice.
