Within seconds of entering the body, drugs cause dramatic changes to synapses in the brain. By bypassing the five senses and directly activating the brain’s reward circuitry fast and hard, drugs can greatly alter neural transmission causing changes in behavior.
Your task is to look into the brains of mice on drugs. You will describe the chemical reactions that are taking place in the synapse.
