Antibiotic resistance has exponentially increased in the last two decades and this is widely contributed to the liberal prescriptions of antibiotics for various conditions, even when medically unnecessary. Even though antibiotics are some of the most effective medications for treatment of infectious diseases, the over prescription of them leads to an accelerated rate of resistance. It is also interesting that conditions such as C Diff, with overt symptoms such as diarrhea, are treated with high dose and various antibiotics that have the potential to compound the already present issue.
