Post a brief analysis of what you learned from this unit’s assigned readings
Part 1: Post a brief analysis of what you learned from this unit’s assigned readings. Include at least 2 takeaways about gender roles, gender socialization, conformity/nonconformity, or anything else covered in your readings and video viewing. Consider and discuss both points through your unique point of view. Remember to cite the source of your information and reference it at the end of your post as well.
Part 2: Complete the Open Sex Role Inventory . As you take the inventory, pay close attention to each item while considering the questions below. (If needed, you can go back and review the questions prior to submitting your responses and/or retake the test.)
· Discuss 3 items that you found interesting, thought-provoking, or confusing and explain why.
· Were any of your beliefs about gender roles or gender in general confirmed or challenged? How so? Explain.
· How does the inventory relate to this unit’s readings? Be sure to include APA Style in-text citations to applicable readings in your response.
Part 3: Our first assignment is due in Unit 4 – your Midterm Infographic/Slide Deck. Hopefully, you’ve already tucked into it – you’ve decided upon a topic, have done some initial research legwork, and have started to plan and execute your piece. (If you haven’t, that’s okay – just use this part of the assignment as a little nudge to do so.) Use this as an opportunity to share your progress with your peers, ask any questions you may have, solicit feedback or ideas on a topic, or otherwise find your heading on this project.
Peer Engagement
Remember to circle back and substantively respond to two classmates by the due date specified in the syllabus and course calendar. Your peer engagement posts must go beyond summarizing and praising. To aid you in this endeavor, incorporate one or more of the following lines of thinking in your peer engagement posts, ensuring both a hearty, meaningful conversation and that your work meets criteria for substance and depth:
· Choose one or both of the takeaways your peer described in their Part 1 and offer your thoughts on why that concept is important and ground that takeaway in your own observations.
· Synthesize the takeaways your peer described in their Part 1 with what you mentioned in yours to coalesce a fuller understanding, providing examples to ground your point.
· Compare/contrast your reactions to completing the sex role inventory to that of your peers. Offer some insights based on that compare/contrast and how you might use this information moving forward.
· Share some encouragement with your peer regarding the status of their Unit 4 assignment, but don’t stop there. Offer some helpful feedback to them; locate and share a resource they may find helpful in their work, attempt an answer at the question they posed, or otherwise contribute substantive help as they find their heading on the project.
