Post 1: Using what you have read this week, reflect on and answer the following questions in 150 words. You will use the provided links in Week 1 and your research from the GMC databases (no Google, Bing, etc searches) to define leadership. You will include this research at the bottom of your initial post, in MLA format, to avoid plagiarism. Make sure to visit the Student Resources for help with using the GMC databases and MLA formatting.
Topics to address:
Based on your research, share your in-depth and critical definition of leadership. Thinking ahead: You will use this definition in your future papers (weeks 3, 5, and 7).
How would you describe yourself as a leader?
How might GMC’s core values, ethics, and honor code help you in college and as a future leader?
What is the difference between a leader, a manager, and a boss? How will this knowledge help in your future as a leader?

This week was an overview of the Skills Approach Leadership Theory. We focused on the Technical aspect and personalized it with a Library Orientation, Moodle Management, Student Email, and defined plagiarism. Share how these technical skills will benefit your academic success as a GMC student and future leader.

Identify something that you learned that furthers last week’s definition of leadership. (You might want to consider how respect plays into the effectiveness of a leader. Or, how does having skills in an area create respect for the leader? etc.)
Based on this week’s material, what kind of skills does a leader need to demonstrate? Meaning, what level of skillset (e.g., basic, advanced, etc) does a leader need to possess to be effective? Provide an example.
