PepsiCo’s product portfolio includes a wide range of enjoyable foods and beverages. It distributes its products through direct-store-delivery and customer warehouse systems, as well as third-party networks. It also sells ready-to-drink tea and coffee products through joint ventures with Unilever and Starbucks along with brands like Crush and Dr Pepper. The company operates business across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Africa, Middle East, South Asia, Asia Pacific, Australia, New Zealand and China.
Download the quarterly revenue data of Pepsico (Use only 2009 1st quarter data to 2022 4th quarter data) Submit a report and Excel files with outputs and analysis. Your report should address/include the following questions in docx or PDF format.
(a) Fit three trend models (e.g., linear, quadratic, exponential) using Excel or MegaStat. Interpret each fitted trend equation and forecast for the next four quarters.
(b) Use MegaStat to calculate seasonal factors and deseasonalize the data. Is there seasonality? explain using the seasonal index. Forecast the next 4 quarters, both with and without seasonality.
(C) Create the binary variables and run the seasonal trend regression. Using the output, Forecast for the next 4 quarters.
d) Compare forecasts. Which model (if any) would yield credible forecasts? Explain. If none, then what?
