Assignment: In this discussion, each of you will be assigned an artist from the PBS art series Art21 (the one appearing ABOVE your name). You are to watch your assigned segment posted as links below (about 10-15 minutes per segment) and then answer the question below in approximately 350 words. Everyone will be answering the same question this time. Use your textbook readings to familiarize yourself with the media used by your assigned artist and the web resources provided as links within Worksheet 3. Then, post your answer to the Module 4 discussion forum by Wednesday at midnight.
Cautionary note: Please make sure to use your own words in your answer. Don’t lift or slightly reword entire passages from your readings or an online source (without citing and quoting it). This is considered plagiarism, and you will receive no credit.
Question: In your opinion, how are the materials (media) used by the artist uniquely suited to his/her work? Try to describe your artist’s working process and how this may be connected to the materials and aesthetics of the artwork. How do you think this contributes to its expressive content? Remember to use all relevant terms and vocabulary from your readings.
