Answer the following three questions after viewing “League of Denial” and the lecture and reading the article on S-5062:
1. Should there be regulations to protect student athletes or should universities and organizations like the NCAA voluntarily comply with their own health and safety standards? Midway through the course, you should now be able to apply your knowledge of occupational safety and health concepts, regulatory agencies, the regulatory process, and the enforcement of health and safety regulations to this question to explain your position. Additionally, you should provide one scholary or popular outside source to support your position. The source should NOT be one used in this course and must be properly cited.
2. Do you think that S-5062 (Student Athletes Bill of Rights) should be reintroduced in Congress? Please explain. For instance, you may want to comment on the positive or negative impact the bill would have on players’ health and safety; whether the bill would be good for colleges and universities or an undue burden; how the bill would change the game; or how being the parent of an athlete would affect your position.
