View ONE episode from the “First Peoples” documentary series on human evolution. Navigate to the link below and select one of the episodes. You can choose from Americas, Asia, Africa, Europe or Australia.

Then respond to the following questions. To receive full credit, your answers should be thoughtfully composed in complete sentences, referring to specific parts of the film. Your responses can either be numbered, or incorporated into an essay form. Minimum word count: 300 words
1. List the title of the episode you reviewed and provide a 1-2 sentence summary of the episode in your own words.
2. Describe the environmental challenges faced by the human populations in the episode you viewed. Depending on the episode, this could relate to climate change, or encountering a new environment.
3. Your response will depend on which episode you viewed. The “First Peoples” series focuses on Homo sapiens moving within a continent or migrating to an unexplored continent. In the episodes about Africa, Asia and Europe describe what happened when early modern Homo sapiens encountered other groups of archaic humans. For the Australia and Americas, describe their migration route to the new continent, the challenges they faced, and how they adapted to their new environment.
4. Name at least one key question about human evolution or migration that was addressed in the episode. Then briefly describe the scientific research methods or techniques shown in the episode, and how they were used to address the question. Examples of research methods include DNA genome reconstruction, chemical dating, stone tool analysis, etc.
5. From the perspective of an anthropology student, how did the documentary enrich your understanding of human evolution and migration?
