For this assignment, you will engage in career research. Go to the website below.

Click on “All Professions”. Go to “By Industry” and Click on an industry of interest (Marketing, Advertising & Sales), and it will give you a list of professions. Click on a specific profession (Search Engine Optimization Specialists). This will give you much more detail on what the job is like, salary info, and what skills are needed.

Note: You can use other websites (like Indeed.com) to find research on careers – just include the website you got these from in your answers.

IMPORTANT: You do have to select at least ONE option in marketing – this is an intro to marketing class, and it is, therefore important for you to know more about what marketers do. However, not all your choices have to be in marketing, nor must they be from the same industry. The goal of this is to explore your options – so pick those that intrigue you the MOST.

Then, write an essay (of at least 500 words) about 3 options you would be MOST interested in pursuing after college and why. For each of the three professions, explain:

1) Why you think YOU would fit well for this career (what strengths & preferences do you have that make it a good fit for you, using insights from your personal branding exercise to inform this), and why you think you would ENJOY this job.

2) What steps can you start taking now to learn more about this career and see if you do want to pursue this career more than others.
