To prepare for this Discussion:

Review the Learning Resources. Access the Kaltura Media uploader located in the Course Home menu to review how to create and upload a video using Kaltura.

Consider varying definitions of death, and experiences related to the processes of dying, death, and bereavement.

Using the Walden Library, locate 1–2 recent (5 years or less) peer-reviewed articles related to dying, death, bereavement, or other considerations related to the coping of loss.

BY DAY 3

• Prepare a 5-minute video using Kaltura in which you:
• Describe your definition of death, including biomedical, legal, and ethical perspectives.
• Discuss how your personal experiences and developmental influences have informed your definition and attitude toward death and bereavement.

Describe how people in at least one culture different from your own define death and experience bereavement.

Include a list of Learning Resources used to prepare your video (the text and 1–2 selected articles).

BY DAY 6

Respond to at least two of your colleagues. Offer new perspectives, a challenging view, or share your own experiences. Consider offering further insights into how an understanding of grief and loss can benefit your work as a counselor. Video is not required for peer response; however, it is strongly encouraged.
