You will write an 8–10-page research paper that includes a title page and abstract as well
as a thorough risk analysis of the selected environmental health issue, risk management, and suggestions for the future. In your paper, you should cover the background of the issue, current research and risk management methods, a risk analysis done by you utilizing your knowledge from the course, and suggestions for future risk management. (Title page and references page not included in the 8-page minimum)
Paper should include the following:
Title Page- This page includes Title, Student name/SID, Course/section and Date
Abstract – The abstract will be between 150 – 200 words and provide adequate summary of the paper.
Introduction – Define the problem including the impact (in all manners: who, what, where), the hazards, and the reason risk management is needed.
Background – provide an in-depth history of the issue, including causes and possible uncertainties within the problem, the scope of the issue, and how its history leads into current efforts and modern research.
Current Research – Summarize current research on your topic from peer reviewed literature and authoritative sources (such as WHO, EPA, CDC, etc). The sources should be published within the last 10 years and provide information on your selected environmental health issue, as well as current prevention practices or methodology, and should enable you with enough information to properly analyze risk and uncertainties and propose risk management solutions.
Risk Analysis – Based on your research and expertise in this environmental health issue, you are to conduct a risk analysis of the current state of the issue, who it impacts, the hazards, uncertainties, and properly communicate this risk in a professional manner, as if you were an active environmental health specialist, pitching this to an organization.
Risk Management – Propose solutions for risk management, include any future steps that need to be taken for potential risk and active risks, and offer a coherent conclusion to your paper.
References – Includes at least ten references. References must be correctly numbered with appropriate citations in text. All references must adhere to the AMA Manual of Style Citation.
