Book : Currency War, Chapter 3 – Gold served as international currency from 1870 to 1914. Please explain based on our readings (The Classical Gold Standard- 1870 to 1914) how was the classical gold standard organized and reasons that explain the benefits of this system as well as the reason for its failure.
Book: Currency War, Chapter 4 – Currency War 1 introduced a new GOLD STANDARD – the Gold Exchange Standard – which was different from the Classical Gold Standard analyzed in chapter 3.
This new gold standard had a different set of “rules of the game” and two main weaknesses/Flaws. Please explain this set of rules and these two.
