Interview Plan

Toward the end of April, you are asked to share a report of an interview you conduct with someone from a nonprofit or business organization who has led or leads community/civic engagement projects or initiatives for that organization.  This person should have been involved in building relationships with those from the community, and the community/civic engagement they lead or have led should go beyond charity work and in some way be focused on effecting social change. Nation of Islam – The Nation of Islam, founded in the 1930s, has historically played a significant role in providing a sense of community and empowerment for African Americans. Through its teachings, it has promoted self-reliance, discipline, and social upliftment, particularly in underserved urban areas. Additionally, the organization has initiated various social programs aimed at addressing issues such as education, drug rehabilitation, and community development, contributing positively to the lives of many individuals and families. Omar Muhammad, one of the many soldiers with the Nation of Islam helping clean up the environment along with the black community. Talk about how the Nation of Islam cleans up people in the community and the great amazing things they do for people.
