Pick an application of reflection or refraction.
There are lots of options. Some examples include:
optical instruments: periscopes, telescopes, kaleidoscopes, microscopes, binoculars, cameras, glasses
vision assistance: car mirrors, traffic mirrors, makeup mirrors, overhead projector, also those ancient projector boxes (similar to a TV)
focusing of light: headlights in cars, stage lights (look up “par cans”), satellite dishes, wifi antennas (look up pringles can antenna), parabolic reflector dishes
human experiences: twinkling of stars, mirages, rainbows, human eyes
Once you have your topic, briefly research that example then you will reply here describing/ explaining it.
Explain if your example is using reflection or refraction or both. Include where and how it is using these principles.
- Reply to at least one other student to discuss their example.
- Search around and find another student who has researched and explained something that regularly affects you or is somehow important to you.
Reply to their post explaining how and why their subject matters to you, and why the new knowledge of how light moves around matters specifically to you.
